The SB-168 treats the banquette as a piece of joinery rather than a padded box. A solid walnut shell runs along the wall and turns down at each end in a generous radius; the outside of the back and both end faces are filled with natural cane webbing set into the frame. Inside, a deep tweed seat cushion sits on the deck with either a continuous back cushion or loose bolsters against the cane, depending on the back height you specify.
Construction. Hardwood frame with walnut veneer or solid walnut edges, cane panels inset in rebates so they can be replaced without dismantling the frame; seat on HR foam over a ply deck, cushions with zipped covers for COM changes. A recessed walnut plinth carries the run.
Specifying it. Draw the ends as left, right or both radiused, and give the cushion count per section so seams fall between diners. Tweed and bouclé COM should be checked for pilling against the cane edge; we confirm the welt detail on the shop drawing. The photographs pair it with fluted walnut pedestal tables and black marble-look tops.
Where it works. Wine bars, bistros and fine-dining rooms with dark timber interiors. Foam and fabric specified to meet CAL TB 117-2013 or BS 5852 on request.
