The SB-111 is a banquette for the place where a back would block the view: the window line. It is a backless bench at standard seat height with a 24 in (60 cm) deep seat, five loose bolsters about 8 in (20 cm) in diameter and 20 in (50 cm) long, and a front face upholstered in three horizontal channels with inset metal strips.
Construction. Hardwood and ply box frame with a ventilated interior; HR foam seat over ply deck. Bolsters have zipped covers over foam or fiber-wrapped cores and small metal end buttons. The deeper seat lets guests sit back against the bolsters and the window reveal.
Specifying it. Check the sill height and any heating or cooling units below the window before finalizing the bench height and depth; we can add a ventilation grille to the front face (see SB-156) where a heater sits behind. Bolsters can be fixed with concealed ties if loose cushions are not wanted in a high-turnover setting.
Where it works. Window lines in cafes, bakeries and all-day restaurants, where the same position serves coffee in the morning and dinner at night.
