The SB-108 turns the void under a banquette seat into back-of-house storage for linen, high chairs, menus or packaging. The full-width seat cushion lifts away and the deck hinges up to reveal the box; the front face carries three horizontal upholstered channels, two inset metal strips and an 8 in (20 cm) metal pull at center.
Construction. Box frame in hardwood and ply with a sealed interior finish; piano or concealed hinges with soft-stay supports so the deck cannot drop on hands. The seat cushion is a separate loose element over the hinged deck.
Specifying it. Storage seats should not be placed where they need to be opened during service. Specify the interior finish (laminate is easiest to clean), whether the box is ventilated, and whether locks are needed. Where the banquette sits against an exterior wall, consider a vented back to avoid condensation.
Where it works. Small restaurants and cafes with limited storage, children-friendly venues, and hotel F&B outlets where linens and supplies need to be close to the floor.
