The SC-223 is a lounge armchair with more upholstery and less visible frame than the SC-221. Seat, back and wide padded arms are fully upholstered; each side is carried by an angled walnut frame that runs from the front leg up under the arm and back down to the rear leg. The sample is covered in a black and white jacquard with an animal motif, a pattern that hides wear well in a busy lounge.
Construction. Hardwood and ply upholstered body bolted to solid hardwood side frames; seat on springs or webbing with HR foam and fiber wrap; arms padded and wrapped. The body can be detached for re-covering.
Specifying it. Lounge seat height is about 16-17 in (41-43 cm), and arm height suits a side table rather than a dining table. COM requirement is around 6 yd of plain 54 in fabric; a directional or large-motif jacquard needs more and a defined match across seat, back and arms, which we draw before cutting. Frame species and stain to sample; protective glides suit the floor.
Where it works. Hotel lobbies and lounges, members' lounges, restaurant bars with soft seating and waiting areas of private dining rooms. Fabric and foam specified to meet CAL TB 117-2013 or BS 5852 on request.
