The SC-214 is the armchair for booth-facing positions. Its defining specification is the arm height: set to clear the apron of the specified table, so the chair slides fully under and aisles keep their drawn width. Three versions share the geometry - a solid wood hoop with upholstered back pad, a fully upholstered shell on slim metal legs, and a cane-back version with a leather seat.
Construction. Solid hardwood hoop laminated or bent and joined to a hardwood seat frame; upholstered versions use a hardwood or steel internal frame with HR foam. Cane panels are natural cane webbing set into a rebated frame.
Specifying it. Give us the table height and apron depth with the chair; we draw the arm height to clear it, typically leaving at least 1 in (25 mm). Arms that do not clear the table are the most common reason dining armchairs are rejected at shop drawing stage. COM depends on version: back pad and seat only is close to a side chair; the fully upholstered shell needs more.
Where it works. Opposite banquettes, at four-top tables in restaurants, and hotel dining rooms where an armchair adds comfort without consuming aisle space.
