The SB-181 is the simplest booth in the library and one of the most economical to specify. Two flat side panels, a flat back and a front apron in honey-toned oak make the frame; a slot is routed through the top of the back to act as a hand hold and a light visual break. The upholstery is applied rather than built in: a black pad with five horizontal channels is screwed to the back panel, and a thin black seat pad sits on the deck.
Construction. Oak-veneered ply or solid oak panels, glued and dowelled or knock-down with cam fittings for flat shipping; upholstered pads on ply backers with HR foam, fixed with screws from the rear so they can be replaced in minutes.
Specifying it. Because the pads are separate, a single booth can be re-covered or re-colored on site without returning it to the shop. Pad thickness sets the effective seat depth; we show it on the section drawing. Slot size and position are drawn to suit the back height.
Where it works. Cafés, ramen and noodle bars, student and staff dining, and casual counters where a light, clean timber look matters more than deep cushioning.
