The SB-166 is a booth that looks like furniture rather than joinery. A walnut-tone timber frame stands on tapered legs; the back and the curved end panels are filled with natural cane webbing; a long teal upholstered seat sits on a timber rail, and a single loose back cushion in a black, cream and green abstract pattern runs the full width.
Where it works. Small restaurants, cafés and hotel lobby lounges where the floor must stay visible and cleaning is done around, not under, the seating. It is light enough to move for events, and two of them face to face across a table make a booth without fixed millwork.
Construction. Solid hardwood frame, glued and dowelled with a seat rail on all sides; cane set into rebated frames with spline; seat on HR foam over a ply deck; back cushion loose with a zipped cover.
Specifying it. Schedule seat and back cushion materials separately; the loose back cushion is an easy place for a pattern COM, and it can be replaced seasonally. COM is roughly 3-4 yd of plain 54 in for seat and cushion at the standard length. Length, stain and leg height are to drawing. Freestanding pieces can be fixed to the floor with brackets if required. Foams specified to meet CAL TB 117-2013 or BS 5852 on request.
