The SB-161 is a double-duty piece for the middle of a room. One face is an upholstered booth with bouclé back and seat and a contrast welt; the reverse is a full-height open shelving unit in oak-finish timber, divided into six bays with metal-edged shelves and a row of hooks under the top.
Where it works. As a room divider between a dining area and a bar, retail wall or waiting zone, where the back of a standard booth would otherwise be a blank upholstered panel. The shelves can carry wine, books, retail stock or plants; hooks take coats or bags at the end of a run.
Construction. The shelving is a separate carcass of veneered engineered board bolted to the booth frame, so it can be specified in a different species or a lacquer color without affecting the upholstery. The booth frame is hardwood and ply on a recessed dark timber plinth; HR foam seat on a ply deck.
Specifying it. Shelf load depends on span and material; tell us what will be displayed and we size shelf thickness and supports on the drawing. Freestanding units of this height should be anchored to the floor; fixing points are shown. Bay count, shelf spacing, edge-trim finish and hook positions are all to drawing. Foams to CAL TB 117-2013 or BS 5852 on request.
