The SC-227 is a lean, handcrafted-looking chair that sits well opposite stone-topped tables. A dark-stained timber frame carries a single curved top rail that sweeps around the back, supported by slim vertical spindles. The seat is a flat deck of dark woven cord, and four tapered legs splay outward at front and back, linked by low stretchers.
Reading the schedule. Frame: dark-stained hardwood. Seat: woven cord, dark. Back: curved top rail on spindles, no upholstery. As a chair with no fixed cover, it is the table's partner when the plan wants a lighter, more open chair than the upholstered ones on the schedule.
Construction. Solid hardwood with mortise-and-tenon joints; the woven seat is laced over the frame and can be replaced; a splayed leg stance gives stability on a small footprint. Stain colour can be matched to the walnut or oak elsewhere on the plan.
Specifying it. There is no COM line, so a schedule that lists COM yardage can record this chair as a hard chair. Specify the stain, the cord colour and the glide type for the floor (felt for timber, nylon or PTFE for stone and tile). Fire-retardancy of a woven seat is specified on request, so state the standard your jurisdiction requires.
Where it works. Wine bars, hotel dining rooms, restaurants with stone tables and timber floors, and rooms where chairs are moved often.
