The ST-303 is the most decorative table on the schedule, and it earns it with the top. A pale jade-green sintered-stone slab, veined in white and soft green like polished onyx, is edged in a matte champagne band. Under it stands a single pedestal in porcelain white, swelling like a carafe from a narrow neck to a rounded belly and flaring to a round foot.
Reading the schedule. Top: onyx-look sintered stone, pale jade. Edge: matte champagne. Base: bottle-form pedestal, porcelain-white lacquer. The base is deliberately plain in colour so that the slab does all the talking; against it, a cream or blush banquette looks fresh and a deep green one looks tonal.
Construction. Slab bonded to a rigid sub-frame, metal band fitted flush; the pedestal is a turned or moulded form with a weighted foot and levelling glides. Surface finish can be gloss or satin lacquer; satin shows fewer marks under service.
Where it works. Tea rooms, hotel lounges and afternoon-tea service, dessert bars, boutique restaurants with a soft, garden palette.
Pattern choice. Strongly veined slabs read differently from one table to the next, so approve a slab sample for the pattern and note the variation range on the schedule.
